Yesterday Hobbs was just fine. Last night he greeted us at the truck (he doesn't usually do this) when we got back from the store. I noticed he was holding his tail weird. As I fed him, I petted him. He was really sensitive about his tail and I felt a bump right about where it is bent.How does a cat break his tail?
Today he just holds it out back, not up. I am sure it hurts to hold it upright. Poor kitty.

Poor kitty is right. Do you have any mean kids in the neighborhood that might have stomped on his tail? Are you sure it's a broken tail and not something that has worked its way under his skin?
Poor kitty!! did you take him to the vet?
Of course it happened on a weekend, and our local vet is only a large animal vet. He doesn't like anything smaller than a calf. So No we didn't. He seems to be getting better and the swelling is going down.
