Am I Up In the Night?

I've had a touch of a stomach flu. Not bad, just enough to feel a sharp pain in only one spot. Kind of like the appendix location, except on the other side.

Sailor mentioned he had it too and that it was going around work, so I just was lazy yesterday. Never changed from my pajamas. The thought of wearing something constricting just made me feel worse. We went to bed at a decent time, I was wiped out by 8:00 pm.

Sailor gave me a Loperamide tablet, which stopped the cramping and knocked me out all night. I awoke around 5 this morning, searching for my water bottle. I didn't want to wake my husband, so I left lights off. I figured it would be near the computer, so I checked there first. To provide light I turned on the monitor, but alas no water. As I was rounding the corner, I don't know if it was the effects of the drugs or just sleepiness, but I sort of lost my balance. I crashed into the grandfather clock then lurched into the entertainment center and fell. As I went down, I thought, "OH NO! our Flat screen TV will fall out" It is firmly anchored, so I don't know why I thought that.

It disoriented me enough that I was feeling around for the light switch and was totally surprised when I realized I was not turning on the living room light, rather the family room light.

There on the floor was our grandfather clock. I sank down to the floor, still dizzy and was laying there when my sweet husband found me. I felt bad that I had awakened him on his day off. He uprighted the poor grandfather clock, then helped me to my feet. I had bonked my head on the entertainment center, but didn't realize it until later when we noticed several things had been knocked to the floor. I couldn't figure out how I had bonked the right side of my head when the clock was on the left, but in reality it had been the entertainment center. We were smart enough to put ice on the bumped part, my forehead and my cheek bone, so I don't think I will bruise.

I hear people say if you want to cure that sore finger, just have someone stomp on your toe. You can't process two pains at once. I'm here to tell you that is an old wives tale. I felt the pain in my head and in my stomach now. Not much use in trying to go back to sleep now. We were quite awake.

Sailor made me some Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice herb tea with honey.

I am feeling much better now. Falling is such a disturbing thing to do. I hate when that happens.

I thought of my friend, Risible Girl, when she did her face plant. Except hers was a much worse fall and she had much more damage. I'm fine, thankyouverymuch.

I hope you have a great night.

Tomorrow night I will be singing with the choir in our Armed Forces Day Concert at the Murray outdoor amphitheater. Wahoo! If you are in the area, come join us, it's free. They hand out treats and there are fireworks after wards.

Hi Dear Friend,
Yes, that was an experience, and I am glad you are doing better. In the spirit of blogging support, I suppose that I should have taken a picture of you with the grandfather clock on the floor, but maybe that is taking the whole blogging experience too far. Get better, Dear Friend.
