I read you faithfully, but mostly from Google Reader. I'm too lazy to go to people's actual blogs.

Hi Annie;

Glad you enjoyed the pictures of Flatirons and Flagstaff Mtn. Yes, Boulder is a special place and I feel privileged to have spent the last 20 years of my life here, although I find virtually every place has it's own unique beauty - sometimes we just have to open our eyes to it!

Take care.

Hi Annie!

You do not know me, but I am Jay Welch's daughter and I have a recording of Soft Rain by Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus. Jay died Dec. 14, 2008 - we like to think he had another christmas concert to conduct, but it wasn't here. If you are still interested in the recording please contact me at marlyse.t@hotmail.com. Good luck and keep singing!

Hi, I came by your blog through Amanda Jean's blog Crazy Moms Quilts. I don't have a blog let, alothough I should. My name is Bonita and I love in Northeast Fl. I am a mother, grandmother to (2) boys, and a mother to (2) adult children. I'm a quilter, avid reader and a sci-fi buff. Keep up the good work on your blog. Hey annie, one should never try and type in the am (it is 9:44am here in Florida) without first having rich coffee with lots of cream. Sorry about all the mistakes. I actually have 3 adult children. They would die if they saw that. My cats name is Chief Red Cloud and he is part Maine Coon. He believes he runs the house, as all cats thinks they do.

This is Katie Forbes; we haven't actually met, though I feel that I've met you through your blog! Just found it today when I was looking for the "Soft Rain" lyrics. It's funny how much we seem to have in common. I'm still working on my blog, but you can find me at stitchings4katie@msn.com or at UncommonTreasures.etsy.com

I found your "Soft Rain" song on a Google search, as the choir I accompanied in HS (back in the late 1970s) performed this many times, and it was one of my favorite songs from the 4 yrs. It brought back floods of memories. Thanks!

Howard

P.S. Your choir sounded great!

My name is Ron McCabe. I now live in Utah, but I was one of the singers as a young teenager when we sang this song at the Young Artists Choral Festival in Fresno, Ca on May 27, 1972. The sone bought back great memories. I have the songbook, but there was also a record made of the event. I cannot find it, but am still looking. I can be reach at mccabe_ron@hotmail.com.

I just wanted you to know what joy one of your postings brought me tonight. Today, my high school choir director, who later became my mentor and friend, moved on to conduct that great big beautiful choir in the sky. Upon reflection, I realized I think of him nearly every day when I garden. You see, I have some columbine and I simply cannot look at that flower and fondly remember not only singing "Soft Rain," but I remember that he had enough faith in me to allow me to accompany the song as well. Thank you so much for posting a memory that I will most certainly visit many times. Ironically enough, it was under his direction that our choir was so very lucky to sing in Utah in 1984 or 1985 (I forget which) with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. You cannot imagine how much finding this video on your blog means to me.
Fondly,
Kierstin Cira

I sang this song in church choir as a teen. I was sitting here watching the rain at my desk. Crying and having a bad day. I started humming this. So I googled it. THANK YOU so much. I haven't heard this song in over 30 years, and I really needed it today.
