The other day, my friend and I went to the women we VT. She had made some yummy cookies and we basically ran them around to their houses, knocked and I would blurt out " Happy VD and VT."
The first reaction from the ladies we VT was a blank stare, then they would look at the cookies and again give us a blank stare.
My poor companion who is more proper than I would hurry and add, "Valentine's Day".
The worried looks changed to ones of relief and understanding.
::sigh:: I need to reform, don't I?
Tonight, my sweet Sailor brought me home a dozen red roses in a vase. They are so beautiful, and I feel so special. Thanks, sweet friend.
He took me to the temple the other day, so I told him that was plenty. I would rather spend Valentine's Day just being at home in his comfortable companionship. So we are doing that.
We made a most delicious salad with fake crab for dinner.
So that I don't ever lose this recipe again here it is:
Fake Crab Salad
1/2 c onions, diced*
1 can olives, diced*
1 package fake crab, thawed and diced*
4 boiled eggs, sliced two ways so basically diced*
1 cup celery, chopped fine. . . or . . . diced*
1 bag frozen peas, thawed in cool water
1 cup Craisins
1/2 cup cashews
1/2 cup ranch dressing
garlic salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
put all diced* ingredients into a bowl, add salt and pepper and ranch dressing. Stir thoroughly
Serve with croissants or Club Crackers
That was our menu along with Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice herb tea.
* You may think I am "dice-happy" and in a way I am since I discovered this onion chopper by Williams Sonoma. This is the neatest invention that my DIL 1 introduced to me. I am in "Dice Heaven", by golly!
Have a wonderful Valentine's Day, all my sweet friends and family out there!

I haven't chopped something with a knife in AGES. I have so many fun kitchen tools.
Do you have a Toss & Chop? If not, you MUST get one. Trust me- you'll thank me after making many delicious chop-chop salads.
