I have no pictures to post yet, but the dress is finished. I delivered it to the beautiful bride last Friday and Saturday was her scheduled Bridal Pictures. I am anxiously awaiting some pictures so I can post some on this site. You don't know the weight that has been lifted off my shoulders. I really didn't know there was any until I gave the dress to her. . .
I would have liked a few days to just let it hang in my front room, so I could walk by it, analyze it, take pictures, straighten it, add a bead or two here and there. . .
I was sewing swarovski crystals onto the stars and skirt all the way to Salt Lake. I probably would have added more if I'd had the time.
I couldn't find any fitting lace to sew onto the dress bodice to bead, so I got out my embroidery machine and made my own. Then I hand-stitched it onto the dress bodice and added beads over that. I found star sequins on E-bay, along with Swarovski Crystals, iridized seed beads and other sequins. Hurray for E-bay! I will never shop for sequins or specialized beads in the stores again. There is a much better selection online. The prices are really reasonable and the shipping is sometimes free.
Anyway, I cannot wait for pictures so I can add them to this post.

Wow!!! You are amazing! I can't wait to see the pictures.
Hi Sweetie,
You did a very nice job, at least to my untutored eye. And I am really impressed that you can make and fit a pattern. I know that you have worked hard to get these skills, and I am impressed also with your dedication. It is a happy thing to see the dining room covered with cloth and sewing machines. Very cozy.
after hearing all of that, i can't wait either! post them soon! i'll be checking back often to see!
I can hear the sigh of relief clear in my state!
I can't wait to see the pictures. :)
you are such a detailed perfectionist!
i'm sure this bride is OVERLY grateful for all the thought and care you put into her dress! i know i was for mine! you didnt HAVE to make it,but you did, and so carefully and perfectly! its probably for the best that it was removed from your critical eye ;)
But then again, it is NOT finished. It was giving a little "too much" in the front, and I had to take it apart, and alter it a bit. Less in the shoulders, around the bust and in the back, which meant I had to take off the embroidery (which I had made on my machine and tacked onto the dress) and the beading. So I am in the process of re-beading. . .
Pictures soon
